Official library sources

exocad

Official source: megagendigital.com/

Access: MegaGen distributes its exocad library zips directly on MegaGen Digital (megagendigital.com) per restoration type, e.g. MegaGen_AnyRidge_Cust_Abt_US_2022_R.01_exocad.zip on the AnyRidge ZrGEN page; no serial gating is stated there. MegaGen Implant Co., Ltd. libraries are also listed on exocad's own Library Download Portal (exocad.com/integration/dentalcad-library-integration), where packages are requested with an exocad serial number and valid email and require a permanent DentalCAD license with active upgrade contract or a Flex license.

Separate exocad packages exist per workflow: Scan Abutment vs Scan Healing Abutment (with/without Scan Post) and per restoration type (ZrGEN Ti-base, TiGEN pre-milled, EZ Post stock abutment). The RP analog library for printed models is a separate exocad download (MegaGen_AnyRidge_RP_ScrewType_EZpost_US_2025_R.01_exocad.zip); US exocad packages carry 2022 R.01 revisions.

3Shape

Official source: megagendigital.com/

Access: 3Shape library packages (DME zips) are downloaded from MegaGen Digital's AnyRidge restoration pages, not from 3Shape — e.g. MegaGen_AnyRidge_ZrGEN_2pc-RP_FDA_US_2024_R.02.zip (Scan Abutment) and MegaGen_AnyRidge-SHA-With-Post_ZrGEN_2pc-RP_FDA_US_2024_R.03.zip (Scan Healing Abutment) on the AnyRidge ZrGEN page. US packages are labeled FDA_US.

3Shape revisions (2024 R.02/R.03) differ from the exocad revisions (2022 R.01) of the same workflows. Unlike exocad, MegaGen states the RP analog data is already included in the 3Shape library, with no separate download needed.

Third-party providers

ProviderNotes
Medentika (Straumann Group)MG-Series is Medentika's MegaGen AnyRidge-compatible line: titanium bases (incl. ASC Flex angled screw channel), PreFace pre-milled abutments, multi-unit components and scanbodies; digital design uses the original Medentika library.
DESS DentalAnyRidge-compatible ti-bases, ANGLEBase, analogs and digital analogs, pre-milled blanks, scan abutments and intraoral scan bodies (52.057, titanium with ZrN coating); DESS publishes its own CAD/CAM libraries in its Downloads section.
Preat CorporationAnyRidge-compatible titanium scan bodies, multi-unit abutments (0/17/30 degrees), healing abutments and LOCATOR abutments; Preat Choice digital library offered in both 3Shape and exocad formats.
Glidewell Direct (Inclusive)Inclusive titanium scan bodies plus titanium and multi-unit abutments listed as compatible with the MegaGen AnyRidge implant system.
Edison MedicalImplant-level scan body for the MegaGen conical connection (AnyRidge); exocad library available, with 3Shape listed as coming soon at time of research.
ARUM DentistryARUM internal MEG scanbody (B011) compatible with AnyRidge Small/Regular/Wide/Super-Wide, includes screw.
NGL MedicalAnyRidge-compatible scan posts in L=9 mm and L=13 mm.

Scan bodies

  • MegaGen's OEM Scan Abutment for AnyRidge comes in 9 mm and 13 mm lengths, and the MegaGen Digital libraries cover both; an aggregator lists the part numbers as AANISR4009 (9 mm) and AANISR4013 (13 mm), with the longer body used where line-of-sight is constrained.
  • MegaGen also supports a Scan Healing Abutment (SHA) workflow — variants with and without Scan Post — each with its own dedicated exocad and 3Shape library packages, letting scan data be captured without removing the healing component.
  • Current US library packages differ in revision by CAD platform: exocad packages are labeled US_2022_R.01 (RP analog library US_2025_R.01), while 3Shape DMEs are labeled FDA_US_2024_R.02/R.03 depending on workflow.
  • Established third-party scan bodies include DESS 52.057 (titanium, ZrN-coated, intraoral/desktop), Preat titanium scan bodies, Glidewell Inclusive titanium scan bodies, and ARUM B011 (one scanbody covering S/R/W/SW platforms).

Documented pitfalls

Community-reported and support-documented issues — the kind that stall real cases.

  • Library selection must match the physical scanning component and restoration type: MegaGen publishes separate exocad/3Shape packages for Scan Abutment vs Scan Healing Abutment (with post vs without post), and for ZrGEN Ti-base vs TiGEN pre-milled vs EZ Post stock abutment workflows (megagendigital.com AnyRidge pages).
  • For printed models, exocad users must download the AnyRidge RP analog library separately (MegaGen_AnyRidge_RP_ScrewType_EZpost_US_2025_R.01_exocad.zip); MegaGen states the 3Shape library already includes it, so the two platforms behave differently (megagendigital.com EZ Post page).
  • For Scan Healing Abutment cases, MegaGen's library pages instruct labs to obtain the SHA diameter and height information from the clinic — cases cannot be set up correctly without this prescription data (megagendigital.com).
  • Community/aggregator caution: MegaGen AnyRidge (KnifeThread, conical hex) and MegaGen BlueDiamond (X-FIT) are mechanically distinct connections, so scan bodies and libraries must be selected per family and never interchanged (3dlmi.com, community-reported).
